Description
This large black bird that is featured in a lot of my artwork is a large Frigate Bird. It is not an eagle and it is not a hawk. The Creative Common Original Photo by Chris Sabor. This photo was taken in my home country of Mexico. These amazing sea birds can soar over the ocean for months at a time without landing. The bird catches updrafts of wind from within clouds allowing it to rest from flapping it’s wings as it glides soars with the ease of a hang glider. Another interesting thing about these large frigate birds is that they do not walk on land, the only stand still. As if they are not capable of being in the lower world. I see them as a symbol of strength and endurance connected to and from higher realms. They offer the medicine of perseverance and assure outlasting others in their endeavors.
